Our Week

Therapy update:

Quintin has made some real progress with his eating. He still has a ways to go, but he really has come a long way! Dinners continue to be the biggest battle. His ST is still not 100% sure as to what is making it difficult, but she has given me a great deal of support and direction! Here is Q enjoying a baked cheese omelet, sausage, and pears. I am so proud of him & hopeful that his progress will continue:-)

One thing that Q uses in therapy is a weighted vest. It helps give him deep pressure or input. Of course they charge you a small fortune to purchase one. My crafty mother made one for Q. I still need to get some weights for it, but for now we continue to use the OT's weights. She even found really cute police fabric so Q can wear his vest just like daddy:-) Thanks Mom!!!!! (AKA Me-Ma) Here are a few pics of Q in his vest. For now he has to wear it inside out and backwards so he can't get it off or take the weights out of the pockets.

This morning Q was lucky enough to spend some time with my sister and the twins while I went to work. While they were at Toys R Us, Q spotted the Thomas the Train section. He is officially obsessed with Thomas. He loves his new Thomas lunch bag so much he was kissing it:-) Thanks Stac!!!!

And finally.... we ended our day today with a playdate. Quintin had a great time! They have a HUGE blowup jumpy:-) Thanks Karin for letting us come and play!

Rock Solid!

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes. I can't tell you how much we appreciate them. Bailey was a part of our family and although she drove us nuts, we loved her VERY much! It seems Quintin started to realize Bailey is not here. He spent his entire breakfast tossing food on the floor and crying out her name. I don't exactly know what to say to that. Fortunately Randy was off today and we were able to spend another day keeping busy as a family. We took Quintin to a great little children's museum. It was like a little town. Quintin was very busy and seemed to have a great time. THEN he started to release the gas and man can he clear a room!!! Turns out the kid was backed up beyond belief. Randy and I had our hands full this afternoon. So bad that we ended up in the doctors office. I will spare you the dirty details:-)

Sunday

Today was tough on all three of us. Quintin called for Bailey several times today. I don't exactly know the right thing to say to him. It has been a very emotional day, but Quintin has a way of making some of the hurt bearable. It is hard not to giggle when you are with him (even when he hardly naps). I kept busy by making 3 blankets. My hands hurt from all the cutting, but it kept me busy. Quintin loves his new baseball blanket.

Here are a few videos of Quintin showing off his moves & making us smile:-)

A tough day

We had to make the horrible decision today to put Bailey down. We have spent the past few weeks watching her suffer. No matter what meds or treatment we tried she continued to get worse. I can't explain in words the hurt we are experiencing right now. We will miss her so very much!

Another Bailey Update

Poor Bailey! She is on day 8 of something nasty. She had another 20 minute spell this morning of gasping and vomiting. The vet showed some concern today that we may need to do some investigating, and they he feels we are missing something that may be larger that we think. I am uncomfortable doing anything until Randy is back in town. In the mean time, we are going to try some meds that coat her throat and see if that helps at all. My heart is breaking for her, and I hate to think that she may be suffering. She seems pretty much her normal self with the exception of what happens when she eats. Hopefully the meds will help and we will see some improvement!

Bailey Update

Things got pretty rough this morning. After speaking with the vet we decided it would be best if I had her looked at again. As I was getting ready to leave the house, she started having one of her "attacks." She was gasping for air and vomiting continuously. I wanted to let her work through it before I put her in the car. Unfortunately she only appeared to be getting worse. I put down a bunch of towels and put her in the car. She spent much of the ride getting sick. Of course with the weather conditions the ride felt like a lifetime. I honestly was starting to wonder if she was going to make it to the vet. After ANOTHER $300 we still don't know much. She is on a lot of meds and we are hopeful that we will see improvement tomorrow. Right now we are going to continue giving her small teaspoons of chicken and rice and hope she keeps it down. I know she is hungry but if we give her more than a pinch she can't keep it down. In the mean time we have the twins here for a sleepover. I will post some pics tomorrow:-)

Bailey

On Tuesday Bailey started to act strange. Wednesday morning she spent an hour getting sick and gasping for air. She spent the entire day in her bed and would not come out. I figured I would give her the day to rest. Thursday morning I came down to find her clearly not feeling well. I called the vet and they suggested we bring her right in. Randy took her first thing. They did two x-rays and concluded she had gas($300 later). I was not totally confident that this was the problem but I agreed to do a bland diet and give her some meds to help her feel better. It is Saturday and she is still gasping for air and then getting sick when I give her more than a small teaspoon of food. I am 100% not convinced that this is gas. I will be calling the vet again today at 8:00. Someone mentioned bloat. I googled it online and I can only say that I hope it is NOT bloat!!!!!! I'll keep you posted.

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday! Today Quintin's new Jump-o-lene arrived.
He seemed just as excited about the box as he was about the actual toy.

Here are a few pics of what came in that exciting box.

Doing his favorite thing.... "DUNK IT"

Quintin loves to run around in his new robe from Uncle Bill while mama sings the Rocky theme song:-)

I can count to 10!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mama and Dada have been working really hard to teach me this. I don't always sit well for the camera so Mama had to try a few times. This is not my best counting work, but you get the point:-) Maybe I am going to be a math dork like my Mama!

Christmas with Trinity

Earlier this week Trinity and Auntie Nessa came over to celebrate Christmas. We have so much fun playing together!

Here we are playing with my new basketball hoop.

Trinity was checking her e-mail, while I counted the money in my piggy bank.
